Basic Fuel Line Connections, etc. In rc pattern planes, you'll need to run fuel lines from the engine back into the fuselage to the fuel tanks. The chart above shows the basic connections common to YS engines that use a regulator to manage the flow of fuel. Be sure to check the manual that comes with your engine for specific instructions on connecting fuel lines for that engine. Notice in the diagram that fuel is carried through one line (the bottom line in the illustration) while pulsating air pressure is returned from the engine crankcase to the fuel tank. By correctly placing your check valve in the air line, you make sure that pressure always moves in the same direction. Notice also that the fuel filter is positioned between the tank and the engine. This filters debris from the fuel just before it reaches the engine, helping to keep the engine clean. Fuel dots make necessary access easy, and also enable you to seal the lines securely during the operation of your plane. The fuel "T"s make connections fast and easy. If you need more information or help, consult your engine manual. Feel free to call our Technical Assistance line at 406-259-9004 (Mon-Sat, 10am-6pm, MST). Happy flying.
