  • 1st & 2nd place winners consistently DB'd @ 90/91 with the LR 85

  • Actual 90% vibration Reduction documented by independent European drive, tran/accoustics lab. When used with popular YS160/170's.

  • LR 85/ LRI 85 High performance Hyde mounts now provide 85% vibration reduction when used with many engines, resulting in controlled idle and smooth transition.

  • Special features prevent excessive rotational motion during start-up, idle, and shut down.

Fits these engines: YS 120 thru 170-DZ

OS 140, OS200s, 3M 145 thru 160

Also fits: ST2300, OS 120AX, SE, ll,lll

6 3/8" or 6 1/8" from the firewall to thrust

washer for above engines.

Fits YS thru 170-DZ engines with 6 3/8" or 6 1/8"

from firewall to thrust washer.

Hyde Soft Mounts are great for both sport and competition rc flying because, unlike other mounts, they don't rob your engine of horsepower.  And that's just the beginning.

By eliminating damaging vibration, Hyde Mounts extend equipment life and reduce noise.  Hyde Mounts are used by over 95% of all F3A NATS level competition flyers providing millions of vibration maintenance free flights and have been in the winners circle over 1300 times.

Many of the Hyde Mounts designated for use with a nose ring, are performing flawlessly with original isolator rubber even after 5000 flights.  There has been no Hyde Mount failure to date.

What is CDR?
CDR stands for percentage of Current Drain Reduction,  same percentage results are obtained as when vibration forces are measured and compared at the source (motor) and body (airframe) with an accelerometer. For normal control surface activation using batteries/servos, as in a typical model aircraft, the average CDR benefits are:

  • 35% CDR extends flight time per charge considerably- extends major equipment life, including airframe, 4-8 times.

  • 60-70% CDR approximately doubles flight time per charge- extends major equipment life 10-15 times.

  • 80-85% CDR approximately triples flight time per charge-extends major life 10-50 times.

The designer of Hyde mounts has over 35 years of vibration affects experience with powered model aircraft. Typical equipment life, including: servos, pots, gears, linkage, and airframe is approximately 25 to 75 flights when hard mounted with a high power to weight ratio engine and aircraft-i.e average equipment life is around 50 flights. Some aircraft and equipment has remained in excellent condition after 3000 flights when using a Hyde Mount-this result is an extension of equipment life by 60 times-try to put a dollar value on this benefit!!!! Also, one specific Hyde Soft Mount remains in excellent condition after 7000 flights (1200 hours) - this mount is now retired and being studied by a vibration engineering department lab. at a major university. The rubber: volume,  dimensions, distribution, tensioning, and bonding, are the success ingredients of a Hyde Mount.

The new Hyde #HCMUAR80 is as near to a universal mount as is currently possible. This mount fits these engines: YS 120-170; OS 160, OS 140; 3M 140-170; & Webra 120-160, as well as the OS200, OS120AX, SE, II, & III and ST2300 engines.

Hyde Mounts are the overwhelming choice of pattern pilots all over the world.  Why?  Because they reduce noise and help to save wear on expensive servos and receivers, as well as the rest of the aircraft.   Highly recommended by Central Hobbies customers.  Light weight and reliable!  See, "Getting What You Pay For."

Installation notes for Nose Ring Incorporated Hyde Mounts

(see in chart above)

The latest technology in soft mounts from Merle Hyde, is an extremely light mount that incorporates the nose ring (see above) that is supported from the firewall. Building a structure in the sides of the engine compartment to support the nose ring is no longer necessary.

Not only does this save weight, it makes a much cleaner and simpler installation of the engine.

Also, there is a threaded removable stud that protrudes from the back of the mount with a red plastic threaded knob. This makes it much easier to align the mount during the initial installation to the firewall.

Simply attach your engine to the mount, and drill a hole in the firewall large enough to allow some movement of the threaded stud approximately where the mount will be located.  With the screw  loosened up enough to allow movement, shift the assembly around until the engine is aligned with the nose, and reaching in from the backside of the firewall, tighten the screw when the mount is in the desired position.

Remove the engine and drill the holes in the firewall exactly where they should be.

It couldn't be any easier.

Firm Idle Mark III Series mounts includes exclusive Hyde Safety Features which prevent pull-apart failure very common with other brands. Built to perform where others fail, the Firm Idle Series offer excellent idle properties and reliable rubber bonding.

HYDE'S "FIRM IDLE" MOUNTS provide better protection than competing "soft" mounts.  The Mark III series mounts reduce dangerous vibration approx. 35%.

All Hyde Mounts are rigorously tested against other brands of "soft" engine mounts.  In test after test, other brands fail in several respects.  First, they fail to adequately protect RC aircraft from dangerous engine vibration at high rpm speeds.  Out of 14 other brands tested, vibration reduction only reaches from 0% to 15%.  This means that some mounts are not offering any protection at all, and the best competitor's brands are only reducing vibration by 15%.  Even worse, some other brands actually pull apart in mid-flight, destroying valuable aircraft.

ASK THE PROS

2005 World & NATS Champs chose Hyde Mounts (for both Electric & Glow applications).

* All other Hyde Mounts reduce damaging high RPM vibration from 60 to 90%.

HYDE MOUNTS ARE PROVEN BETTER

Now there's no reason not to use the VERY BEST MOUNT available!  The FIRM IDLE MKIIl series from Merle Hyde are a perfect fit for most sport planes, offer excellent vibration protection, and are priced to fit every sport flyer's budget.
